Beegan K9 Dog Daycare: Frequently Asked Questions
What Cleveland dog owners actually ask before they book, answered plainly.
About Beegan K9
Beegan K9 is Cleveland's only small-group AND trainer-run dog daycare: playgroups of 2 to 3 dogs, a hard cap of 12 dogs a day, and every session supervised by an Expert Handler. Most daycares put 15 to 25 dogs in one room at once with rotating attendants. We are the deliberate opposite.
Beegan K9 was founded and designed by Caden Beegan, a Certified Professional Trainer (Paradigm K9 Graduate, Canine CPR and First Aid), who hired and trains the small team that runs it. Co-owner Zach Saxton handles operations and growth. Every handler is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT). That means your dog is cared for by the same, trusted team, every single day.
It means the person forming playgroups, reading stress signals, and supervising every session is an Expert Handler, not an attendant, working a program designed by a Certified Professional Trainer. Every handler on the floor is an APDT Member. We do not sell training at daycare. The expertise shapes the environment, and better behavior is the natural byproduct.
Beegan K9 was founded by Caden Beegan, a Certified Professional Trainer and a graduate of Paradigm K9 in Columbus, Ohio, with Red Cross Canine CPR and First Aid. He designed the day, and every Expert Handler who supervises playgroups is an APDT Member, every day.
12 dogs maximum per day, with playgroups of 2 to 3 dogs matched by temperament, energy, and play style. Never more than 3 dogs out at once. The 12-dog cap is a hard rule, not a busy-day exception.
2080 W 110th St on Cleveland's West Side, an easy drop-off from Lakewood, Ohio City, Tremont, Battery Park, Rocky River, Gordon Square, and Detroit Shoreway. Open Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 6:00pm.

Getting Started & the Evaluation
Every dog starts with a free evaluation day: a complete, complimentary day of daycare. Book online in about a minute, and you speak directly with the owner before your dog's first day.
Book the free evaluation →Your dog's evaluation is a complete, complimentary day of daycare. We observe everything: how they settle in the morning, how they respond to structure, how they interact during introductions, their play style, stress signals, and what kind of playgroup will be the best fit. By the end of the day, we know your dog, and you'll know exactly what to expect.
Yes, completely. No cost, no commitment, no fine print. It is generous on purpose: we would rather you see the difference than take our word for it.
Just your dog on a leash, proof of standard vaccines, and any food they need for the day. The intake form you receive after booking covers the rest.
No. After the evaluation you book day by day or in 3-day and 5-day packages, whatever fits your week. Most families settle into a consistent weekly routine because their dog does better with one.

A Day at Beegan K9
The day starts with rest, not play: a calm morning settle, then individual potty walks one dog at a time, rotating playgroups of 2 to 3 with rest between sessions, individual afternoon walks, and a calm pickup. Structure is the product.
See the full routine →An Expert Handler matches playgroups by temperament, energy, and play style, and watches every session. Groups rotate through the day, so the mix always fits the dogs who are out.
Yes, real rest in a calm, dedicated space is built into the day. We are intentionally not cage-free: forcing dogs into constant social interaction for 10 hours is stressful, not fun. Rest is why dogs go home settled.
You get a daily 4K video compilation of your dog's actual day, 2 to 3 minutes, every day. You can also text or call the Expert Handler who is watching your dog.
With 2 to 3 matched dogs and an Expert Handler watching, play rarely escalates in the first place. When a dog gets overstimulated, they get a calm break, not a timeout in a crowd of 30.

Pricing & Booking
A single day is $60, a 3-day package is $55 per day, and a 5-day package is $50 per day. Your first day is a free evaluation. We are at the higher end of Cleveland daycare pricing, and that is deliberate.
See full pricing →Because the daily cap is 12 dogs instead of 50, and an Expert Handler runs every session. We aren't the cheapest. We aren't trying to be. The free first day lets you judge the difference before you spend a dollar.
Book the free evaluation online in about a minute. After your dog is established, returning clients book through the client portal or by texting us directly.

Will My Dog Fit Here?
Not at all, it is often an advantage. Your dog's first daycare experience will be a calm, structured day in a group of 2 to 3, not a crowd. Every dog struggles a little at first, and the evaluation day is built for exactly that.
Often, yes. Many dogs labeled a problem with 15 to 25 dogs in one room at once do well in a matched group of 2 to 3 with an Expert Handler reading their signals. The free evaluation tells us honestly whether that is your dog.
We evaluate every dog individually. Dogs that are overstimulated, shy, or selective about friends often thrive here precisely because of the small matched groups. We never call a dog aggressive based on how they behaved in chaos.
Puppies are welcome once they're current on Rabies and DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus) for their age. We confirm the exact timing when you book the evaluation.
No breed restrictions. Playgroups are matched by temperament, energy, and play style, so size is handled by smart grouping rather than blanket rules.

Vaccines & Safety
Your dog needs to be up to date on Rabies and DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus). For puppies, we confirm the right timing for their age when you book the evaluation.
See requirements →The Expert Handler on the floor is Canine CPR and First Aid certified, and you have a direct line to them all day. With 12 dogs maximum and groups of 2 to 3, problems are seen early instead of discovered late.
Every play session is supervised by an Expert Handler from the same small team, and every member of the team is an APDT Member. The program is designed and overseen by Caden Beegan, a Certified Professional Trainer, who trains every handler on the floor.
