At Beegan K9, playgroups are 2 to 3 dogs, matched by temperament, energy, and play style, never more than 3 out at once. A young dog gets a turn with the full 4,000 sq ft and an Expert Handler's full attention, then rests in a dedicated crate space while another group takes theirs.
That rotation is what makes the space work the way it does. Instead of splitting the room with everyone else in the building all day, the 2 to 3 dogs who are out at any given moment have the whole space to themselves. Most Cleveland daycares run the opposite model: one open room where every dog, adult or puppy, shares the same space for the whole day.
